Margaret Spellings is Wrong for UNC

UNC schools represent a world-class public research and instructional system, yet recent events have placed higher education in North Carolina in a state of crisis. The state's Board of Governors has used an undemocratic process to hire Margaret Spellings as the UNC System’s new president. Spellings embodies the corporatization of higher education -- she is a political appointee, and she was on the board of the parent company of a for-profit school and a student debt collection agency. She also has a history of making anti-LGBT remarks. The list goes on.

The FACTS don't lie.

Corporations are determined to take over higher education. She may be the latest corporate plant but she won’t be the last. Spellings is officially in office-- so now our work is more important than ever.

Don’t let what’s happening in North Carolina go on one more minute! Join our movement and be a part of the right change in North Carolina.
