Reigniting the Mission
"If the dignity of work is to be protected, then the basic rights of workers must be respected--the right to productive work, to decent and fair wages, to the organization and joining of unions, to private property, and to economic initiative."
–-United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
This is the ideal, but around the country Jesuit Colleges and Universities are using contingent, underpaid instructors and fighting the democratic choice of their faculty to organize. The Faculty Forward Network is working across the country on organized campuses, campuses fighting to organize and beyond to change this.

We're working together to reignite the Jesuit mission on our campuses. At Georgetown University, we are seeing the Just Employment policy working in practice with our partners at SEIU Local 500. By participating in actions across the country, we are raising awareness of the national crisis in higher education, and holding our administrators accountable to the rich social justice mission of Jesuit higher education.
